Tzatziki
|
Ttzatziki is the most famous appetizer in Greek cuisine. Variations of this product are also known throughout the East by the Turkish name “casik”, and the Indian name “ayran” and “raita”. Greek tzatziki is made with strained yoghurt made from sheep’s milk and fresh cucumber cut into cubes or slivers. Its refreshing flavour is the ideal accompaniment to any number of foods, like dolmades or stuffed vegetables, and a key ingredient in the beloved Greek pita bread kebab and gyro. |
